When we first sat down and thought about pursuing film production, we never thought we’d be doing weddings for any other reason than to make ends meet while we looked for “real” jobs. Why? The truth is that we thought making wedding videos was too stressful, too cheesy, and too boring. And while it can be stressful, we were definitely wrong about the other parts.
Randall and Fatima’s film is something we’re really proud of. When people think of wedding videos, we want them to think of this – not the dusty VHS tape their parents probably have sitting in their attic.
The “epic-ness” of this film is owed entirely to Randall and Fatima. Not only did they plan a beautiful wedding in Brooklyn at Giando on the Water, but they are also just really awesome, down-to-earth, fun people. And they have a palpable emotional connection together that even the best cinematographers could not stage. Great films come from great stories, and if you feel a little teary-eyed at the end of this one, you’ll know it’s because Randall and Fatima really do share something special.
We loved working alongside Alicia Swedenborg – who is amazing and shoots film! – and the friendly staff at Giando. Giando is really an amazing place to have a wedding – the views of NYC and the Williamsburg Bridge are equally stunning.
On the techie side, this was the first time we printed the DVD case cover from a video still from the Blackmagic Cinema Camera. You could definitely print very nice 4×6’s from the camera. Pretty cool…
